Hallowed by Thy Name

Do you know your father’s name? Is it possible to be puzzled about the knowing of his name? If it is not possible be confused about your own father’s name ,then how can it possible to be confused about the name of our Creator and Sustainer? How can two people of the same faith differ about the name of name of God Almighty ?

According to the different sects of Christianity, each sect has a different name for Whom they are worshipping. Although the majority among them have agree about the name of Jesus Christ as one of the names they claim they are in fact worshipping one God. Why should they differ about the name of this God they are worshipping ?

Millions of Christians around the world are offering prayer through their saying:

“Our father which art in heaven ,Hallowed be thy Name “Matthew6:9

Did they ever ask themselves ,what actually is His name? Is His name the” Father’ ?”Jesus ? “God”? “Yahweh”? Or who?

In regards to these names, let us ask some questions ?Did the Creator name Himself with one name only ,or all of them at same time? Did God Almighty attribute any of these to Himself ,or did someone else do it? When we mention these names , do we really mean the Creator Himself or do we mean someone else? What or who is the source of all these names ?And lastly ,what is the meaning of these names.

The Creator and Sustainer of the Heavens and the Earth is a unique Being that cannot be compared to anyone or any thing .There is none like unto Him .How about the name of the Creator and Sustainer? It must also be unique name is a firm belief of all religions. Are the above-mentioned names, unique names?

Can we use the word “father” as a name for the Creator ?The word “father “ is not a name ,but it is an attribute . It is not unique because there are millions of ”fathers” around the world who are carrying the same of Jesus, can they be gods or as gods?

What about the word “God” ? The word God can be made into a plural i.e. ”Gods” .Also it can be made into the feminine ,i.e. Goddess. How can the word :”God “ be the proper name of the Creator? There are thousands of false gods called upon around the world . Idols of countless different names and shapes ( men, women ,animals ,planets) Which are referred to as gods.

Can we use the name of “Jehovah “ is a name of an alter .

“Then Gideon built an alter there unto the lord ,and called it Jehovah –sha’lom :unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of Abi-ez’rites” Judges 6-24

Even the name “Jehovah” cannot be used as a name for the Creator ,as the name which is given to more than one is not a unique name , while the name of Creator must be unique .

The question still remains , what is His name ?

His name is the name which He named Himself . Which He announced and attributed to Himself .

“Verily I am Allah, none has the right to be worshipped but I, so worship Me , and perform the prayer for My remembrance” Qur’an 20-14

Allah is a unique name which The Creator and Sustainer has given to Himself. There is no other name like it and it has never been given to any of the Creation . It cannot be a plural and it does not have any feminine form. It is only proper name for our Creator, and there is none like unto it!

Also the name of Allah is the rest and peace of Allah is the rest and peace of the heart:

“Those who believed (in the oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism ) and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah: verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest “ Qur,an 13-28
